At the conclusion of last season (fall 2022), we surveyed families and you indicated there was significant interest in PCSC offering a spring soccer option. With that in mind, we’re going to give it a try! As with anything new, there is a lot to learn and there will likely be some bumps along the way, so please bear with us. We also recognize that many kids participate in lacrosse, baseball, softball, or other spring activities, so we have designed an offering that is lightweight but still allows for players to keep a ball at their feet in the spring.
Below are the details that we know and some other details that will firm up as we progress through the spring:
What we know
Registration is open until March 10th, 2023.
The season will consist of six games (4/22-6/3) with possible playoffs on 6/10 & 6/11.
Most games will be held on Saturday.
We plan to only play games (one per week), training opportunities are available through Fusion.
Cost will be $50 per player.
We will use uniforms from last fall.
We are not offering Development Academy (DA) for younger age groups.
What we still need to learn
We are hoping to field one team per field size (7v7, 9v9, 11v11) – per gender - but teams will not be finalized until registration closes.
Due to a field shortage in Portsmouth, there’s a chance all games might be played at opponents’ fields.
If this sounds interesting, please use the link below to register your player(s) and we will contact you mid-March with more information about team assignments. Please reach out (portsmouthcitysoccerclub@gmail.com) if you have any questions.
PCSC Board of Directors
Portsmouth City Soccer Club offers financial assistance to anyone who needs it for both the Registration Fees as well as the Uniforms. We would never want any child to not play due to financial constraints.
Portsmouth City Soccer Club partners with a local nonprofit called The KEY Collective and their #areuin? program. This program provides independent and confidential income verification via a card that is issued to families. A participant qualifies for this card if they receive free or reduced lunch, have NH Medicaid, or get a referral from school personnel.
To confirm qualification go to: https://www.areuincard.org/key-collective
If you would like to take advantage of this program, please email our scholarship team before you register at: comeplaypcsc@gmail.com. They will provide you with the discount code to be entered at the time of registration.
